Ruthven Bridge Carriageway Remedial Works

The existing bridge is in a poor state of repair, causing issues for road users and pedestrians, and we appreciate this bridge provides you essential access to the area. Our project involves closing the existing bridge to vehicles from Tuesday, the 2^nd of May until Friday the 26^th of May, although we will endeavour to get this completed quicker if possible.

As part of the works, we need to maintain access for Non-Motorised Users or ‘NMUs’ throughout the project, which will allow pedestrians, dismounted cyclists and dismounted horses to go across the bridge during the works, but not vehicles.

During the works, we have a few activities that we require the bridge to be completely closed to NMUs, to ensure that the public safety is maintained.

Please note, on the days that we full closure, we are only permitted to close the bridge completely to NMUs during the hours of 9am until 3pm, outside of this, the bridge will be opened again for NMU access.

These dates where full closures will be in place (from 9am until 3pm) are:

·       Wednesday the 3^rd of May – Removing the existing surfacing.

·       Tuesday the 9^th of May – Installing new bridge deck water proofing.

·       Wednesday  10^th  May – Installing new bridge deck water proofing.

·       Monday the 15^th of May – Installing the new bridge deck surfacing.

·       Tuesday the 16^th of May – Installing the new bridge deck surfacing.
